America 250
As the nation prepares to celebrate its 250th birthday,
we bring you noteworthy developments in the preparations
and expose those who use the occasion to trash the country
that has been so good to them.
OUR ACTIONS
The Guardians of History recently wrote to the Secretary of the Interior, Doug Burgum, to offer our assistance in his assigned task per President Trump’s Executive Order to determine whether public statues and monuments have been removed, changed in order to perpetuate a false history, or altered to include improper partisan ideology. We suggested two statues should be evaluated - first, the monumental tribute to explorers Meriwether Lewis, William Clark, and Sacagawea (toppled in Charlottesville, VA in 2021) and, second, the Emancipation Memorial, a statue of Abraham Lincoln with a freed slave rising to his feet, shaking off broken shackles (removed in Boston in 2020 - freed black donors paid for the original statue in Washington, D.C.). |

I want to remind people about the freedoms we have here in this country.” So, Soloviev’s charitable arm has created an immersive installation called “Path of Liberty: That Which Unites Us” that is showing near the United Nations.

4/20/25 - The American Revolution brought popular sovereignty to the world stage and “altered the destiny of billions.” We should be confident enough to tell the American Story, warts and all, without apology. “The failure to live up to our most cherished principles is a universal human failing. Why should our own failings be used to ‘prove’ we're unworthy of love and respect and patriotic devotion?”
4/19/25 - Sneering left-wing Slate celebrates collapse of a commemorative arch reading “Welcome to the Birthplace of American Liberty”, devolves into self-righteous proclamation that “liberals are feeling none too proud of their country,” then concludes with an anti-Trump screed. There’s only one reason for an article like this to appear: to tear everything down. Why don’t you roll up your sleeves, get to work, and do something to make things better for everyone instead of just sneering from your armchair? Sneering is cheap and easy; let’s see you achieve something real.
4/19/25 - The point of celebrating the nation’s birth is lost on critics who can’t see beyond their own Trump Derangement Syndrome and who bash his preparations for America 250 as an “assault on history” that “destroys truth”
4/19/25 - AP writers use occasion of Lexington and Concord battle reenactments to emphasize present-day divisions in the country, trash the Declaration of Independence (‘all men are created equal’ is preposterous in light of slavery), and declare the Founders were not confident the American experiment in self-government would endure. Some celebration.
4/19/25 - Telling America’s story is too important to leave to radicals and that is why President Trump has called for a restoration of America’s story. And on cue, Leftists are crying censorship – but what they really fear is losing control of the narrative.
4/18/25 - Left-of-center writer finds “much to celebrate” in America 250 - a free society, democratic principles that reformers continue to invoke, and inspiration to millions around the world
4/18/25 - America’s 250th birthday does not call upon us to “celebrate mistakes” but the first actualization of the Enlightenment principle that political authority rests with the common people. Thus, do not fall into the trap of “self-flagellation when we discover hypocrisy in our past.”
4/16/25 - “mature minds can combine unblinking assessments of history’s inevitable mistakes, cruelties, tragedies and sorrows with gratitude for those who persevered, and reverence for what they achieved: a wonderful nation.” Revolutionary War trilogy reminds us that “the birth of this nation, like that of a baby, was painful but worth it.”
4/10/25 - Yale professors to teach one-time ‘America 250 history course in the fall, but err in calling for the reinvention of the American Idea (“It is this generation of students who are going to have to invent some of these things anew about what the United States is and what its function in the world is”). Only people who hate America called for its ‘reinvention’. Our critique here.
4/3/25 - As we approach America’s 250th birthday on July 4, 2026, we must remember that vigilance is the price of liberty, and it requires us to keep our eye on the prize of a restored and victorious constitutional republic, and the defeat of a corrupt administrative state.
4/2/25 - Pavan Parikh, Hamilton County Clerk of Courts and Co-Chair of Hamilton County’s America 250-Ohio committee, wrote in his absurd editorial about America’s 250th that “the foundational values that have shaped America are liberty, justice, and the unyielding belief that diversity makes us stronger” and that “diversity, equity, and inclusion are essential components of a thriving society.” Whatever happened to E Pluribus Unum?
10/14/24 - Left-wing Atlantic runs through a long litany of reasons to hate America, then surprises with admission our country has a “pretty good origin story” - “a revolution on behalf of human equality.” Magazine challenges the Left to engage with and find meaning in the artifacts of America’s founding. “If they don’t, the meaning of 2026—and of American patriotism—will be decided for them.”
