White House Blasts Smithsonian’s Extreme Left-Wing Activism and Advocacy

As the Guardians of History previously reported in September 2025, the Smithsonian has a penchant for biting the hand that feeds:
 
The White House put out a list of leftist endeavors undertaken by various components of the Smithsonian, an institution created by act of Congress and two-thirds funded by taxpayer money.  Here are a few highlights from the list:

• asserts “the nuclear family,” “work ethic,” and “intellect” are white qualities rooted in racism
• flies the “Intersex-Inclusive Progress Pride flag” at its facilities
• exhibits “evolving and overlapping identities such as lesbian, gay, bi-sexual, transgender, queer, transsexual, transvestite, mahu, homosexual, fluid, invert, urning, third sex, two sex, gender-bender, sapphist, hijra, friend of Dorothy, drag queen/king, and many other experiences”
• celebrates the act of illegally crossing the southern border
• argues in favor of biological men competing in women’s sports
• characterizes the Texas Revolution as a “massive defense of slavery waged by ‘white Anglo Saxon’ settlers against anti-slavery Mexicans fighting for freedom, not a Texan war of independence from Mexico”
• claims “what unites Latinas and Latinos“ is “the Black Lives Matter movement”
• refers to the founding of America as “a profound unsettling of the continent”
• declares the Pilgrims were just a “myth” and Benjamin Franklin just a slaveholder
• defines Latino history as centuries of victimhood and exploitation, suggests the U.S. is stolen land, and characterizes U.S. history as rooted in “colonization”
• displays quotes from a socialist and the notorious communist Angela Davis (the latter was once among the FBI’s Ten Most Wanted Fugitives)
  • The Smithsonian has become a playground of the Left.  It is spiteful and hates America.  Why are we putting up with this nonsense?  Why are we giving them our money?

Now comes a new report from the White House accusing Smithsonian leaders of “extreme political activism”.  Here are some high points from the report:

• The Smithsonian has forsaken historical scholarship and embraced social justice advocacy. 
• American history is now portrayed through themes of racism, oppression, and inequality.
• The Smithsonian seeks to transform the country through its activism, which is not its mission.
• The head of the Smithsonian’s Museum of American History is on record as implying America is nothing to celebrate, as considering history a “prime tool of social justice”, and as tying scholarship to “activism and advocacy”.
• The Museum of American History has downgraded the nation’s founding and founders.  Not a single major exhibit is devoted to them or to the American Revolution.
• Instead, the Museum’s exhibits advocate its warped views on race, immigration, and gender identity.

Critics say Americans deserve to know the full story about these subjects.  If the Smithsonian were truly interested in presenting the whole story, then why are its exhibits and advocacy reflexively left-wing and exclude conservative viewpoints, hmm?  Why is the Smithsonian trying to erase history and brainwash everybody?  We shouldn’t have to pay people who despise us or subsidize our own demise.
