James Monroe’s Highland got a $1 million grant from the Mellon Foundation “for inclusive research, teaching, and community engagement around the legacies of slavery and racism.” 

Perhaps this invasion by Mellon Foundation grant money tainted the information on Highland’s website?

Monticello Persists in Jefferson/Hemings Paternity Smear

The Guardians of History notified Monticello that its website wrongly asserts Thomas Jefferson fathered at least six of Sally Heming’s children.  The website text contradicts the conclusions of Monticello’s own report that there is only a “strong likelihood” of paternity and that the question “can never be fully resolved.”

Historians Have Debunked The 1619 Project and There’s Nothing Left

Following the Times’ publication of The 1619 Project, many prominent historians came forward to contradict the preposterous claims in Hannah-Jones’ work.  Many wrote letters, here and here, to The New York Times Magazine to express their “deep concern” with The 1619 Project’s “historically-limited view of slavery” and their “dismay” at its “treatment of major issues and personalities of the Founding and Civil War eras.”
