12 Reasons the Budget Bill Stinks

Schumer’s for it:

Pelosi’s for it:

It hikes 2017’s already swollen budget by 20%.
It funds Obamacare.
It doesn’t touch SS, Medicare, & Medicaid, the bulk of our $200 trillion in debt obligations.
It adds another trillion to the $21 trillion national debt.
It funds $4 billion on opioids programs—which should be an individual, parental, and local responsibility--setting up another, ever-increasing federal entitlement.
It bolsters another new federal entitlement, $2.3 billion worth, for “school safety”, a local and parental responsibility.
It has huge increases for welfare programs like “home energy assistance”, “community development”, and Obama’s TIGER stimulus program.
It funds Planned Parenthood.
It funds Schumer’s NY tunnel boondoggle by siphoning off over a half of billion dollars from various federal accounts.
The bill, like Obamacare, was thrown together in secret and in haste without the public and its representatives getting a chance to read it. It made zero effort to ferret out massive waste or useless or counter-productive programs, agencies, and departments.
'It sucks,' said Louisiana Sen. John Kennedy said of the spending measure. “This is a Great-Dane-sized whiz down the leg of every taxpayer in this country." 'No thought whatsoever to adding over a trillion dollars in debt.'
Instead, the budget should cut, not hugely hiked, with targeted increases to a few select programs such as military readiness, paid for with cuts elsewhere.
Trump should veto, then Congress should start over, keeping the current budget in place until there is a new, sane one. (Incredibly, Obama’s last budget buster was better than this one.)
