The Midnight Patriotism of Paul Revere
An implicit core value of the Tea Party movement is patriotism - love of country. One way to refresh feelings of patriotism is to revisit the inspiring stories of the early American patriots like Paul Revere. There’s always something new to learn. Did you know the colonists patrolled the streets of Boston all night to watch for British troop movements, or that Paul Revere borrowed the horse for his famous ride? One of the accounts Revere left of his ride is an 8-page letter which you can read and explore here and here. Revere’s patriotism is part of America’s founding, well worth revisiting in a time when the political Left is trying desperately trying to strip America’s foundation away to make it easier to impose their will upon us. Stories of our heroes are one good antidote.
